Albuquerque roller skating rink celebrates its grand reopening

SKATING RINK — IS PREPARING FOR A GRAND RE0-OPENING IN JUST WEEKS… AFTER THREE SUCCESSFUL DAYS OF BUSINESS OVER THE WEEKEND. BACK IN JUNE — A MAJOR STORM RIPPED OFF PART OF THE ROOF OF ROLLER SKATE CITY NEAR I-40 AND JUAN TABO… FORCING THE FAMILY-OWNED SKATING RINK TO CLOSE. SINCE THEN — THE OWNERS HAVE STRUGGLED TO CONTROL FLOODING IN THE BUILDING AS CREWS WORKED TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE. NOW THE WHOLE FACILITY HAS BEEN RENOVATED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM — AND THE MANAGEMENT SAYS THEY’RE READY FOR A FRESH START. 4:29 i’ve restructured the entire business from the ground up in the meantime, there was a lot to do, everything’s going to run more efficiently. 4:35 THE RINK IS ALSO GETTING A NEW NAME… WHICH WAS ACTUALLY ITS ORIGINAL NAME WHEN IT OPENED 30 YEARS AGO — “ROLLER KING.” THE RINK REOPENED LAST FRIDAY.

  1. I'm so excited it's back to being called Roller King! Is Blake Ken's son? The little one that used to tear around the rink when he was like 5. BTW, this rink is featured in a sweet video I made. please check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6ZSj-mV7LA
