Gallipoli, Turkey: Indian soldiers | Aamir Khan & My Turkish Friends

its 9:15 am today is 5 september He is my host, Haidar He is taking me to his school Due to vacation I wont get to meet children but I can meet other teachers It is quite humid in Gallipoli, just like Mumbai I was sweating profusely when I reached here yesterday Yesterday he helped me a lot to plan this trip He is a great traveller, a passionate biker He has been to lot of countries, almost every where in Europe I think this is how they start their day This is a room for teachers and here are the teachers Mr Haidar is also here When Haidar opened this locker, I saw some papers This remids me of a bollywood movie – “Every Child is Special” also known as – Taare Zameen Par Then I asked him about Bollywood He replied Yes Then he told me about his favourite actor Aamir Khan is quite famous in Turkey Then he also told that among all the movies of Aamir Khan… he liked ‘every child is special’ the most Then he said I told you that there are a lot of graves of Indian soldiers in this area I want to visit there Most of us dont know about this fact that a lot of Indian soldiers were martyred in Gallipoli during WW1 He is using Google maps, calling his local contacts to help me out and because of this we are gradually reaching to those places where we can find the graves of Indian soldiers I am not able to find on internet the exact locations of those graves If you are really intested in this topic… You should come here for a proper research This is quite an important topic for Indians They are forgotten heroes This means Drinking water I have refilled my bottle from here He is Kuzey Now he is going to take me for Gallipoli Tour I have to get my daypack repaired A tailor is called Terzi in Turkish just like Darzi in India Terzi – Darzi We are in Europe These ferries are going to the Asian side of Turkey Its very close… visible from here You just have to cross Dardanelles These trucks are going to be loaded in these ferries You have to pay 3.75 Lira as fare in that ferry whereas here, its free because its meant for carrying trucks, but passengers also use it cars and trucks are offloading from this ferry He has brought me to a local museum This is Gallipoli War Museum Indian soldiers came here as the part of British Indian Army During WW1, on one side were the Allied forces on the other side was Central powers These countries comprised of Allied forces On the other side was… These two sides were fighting with each other We had to support British as we were their colony This is Gallipoli This water body connects Aegean sea and Black sea This is the part of Turkey Strategically quite a crucial area This could connect Britain with Russia, both the parts of Allied forces That is why Allied forces wanted to capture this water body This will connect Britain and Russia They could also attack Turkey from these sides if they could have controlled this area We Indians entered from this side Australians and New Zealanders also accompanied us called Anzacs India was undivided at that time So today’s Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis fought together for British We all fought and attacked the soldiers of Ottoman empire so that we could capture this area from this side Ottoman’s soldiers were attacking us From this French attacked from This side British all wanted to capture this area Graves of our Indian soldiers are supposed to be in this area near Saidulbahir and Kiritbahir villages Tomorrow I am going to explore that area Many graves are still unnamed They might be of those Indian soldiers its 2 pm If this topic touches you then you should visit this museum I came here just because of our Indian Soldiers Grapes water Mixed with Mint its good cost 1.5 Lira around 16 INR now we are in a restaurant i forgot the name of the drink now we are going to have … The restaurant manager lady has gone according to him, I can leave the money here on the table I am paying 3 Lira if I am able to understand it properly A gentleman ate Turkish flag to protect it from the enemy He didn’t want the enemy to insult the flag so he swallowed it another place Thats Asia Here is Europe It was a large-scaled massacre at this place during WW1 almost 100,000 people were killed in this area I could get this experience just because of Couchsurfing You can pay to a private agency for a private guided tour but you won’t meet such people who show their place selflessly thats the true hospitality you get the authentic experience of that place that is why I love couchsurfing Kuzey is also a couchsurfer now its 8:45 am He loved the pictures of Laddakh He suffered martyrdom at 22 He is from Afghanistan When we came to know that we are from India and Afghanistan… we hugged eachother We are brothers

  4. Hello brother! It's always pleasure of mine to see you fresh & lively! It gives us more energy & encourage. Can you please tell more about hitchhiking & crouch surfing rent? It will be more helpful for us

  14. In the middle of the video, i was thinking about boy named Kuzey. A young Turkish boy, selflessly serving an unknown person. This tells a lot about their culture. You acknowledge the same @19:00. We have alot to learn from the world.
