Top 10 Worst CGI Movie Effects

Nothing takes you out of the moment like a bad special effect. Welcome to and today we’ll be counting down the Top 10 worst CGI movie effects Just to be clear, we’re singling out the CGI from films with respectable or massive budgets that shouldn’t have settled for second-rate or unfinished looking effects. Number 10: The Agent Smith Battle –
The Matrix Reloaded Kicking off our list is the film trilogy that is otherwise recognised for revolutionising visual effects However, it stumbled when it sought to have Neo square off against countless agent Smiths in a CGI extravaganza. Unfortunately, despite having a relatively strong start, the quality dips as the fight drags on Making everything look more and more like its made of plastic! Its as if the special effects department lost interest in realism, or just simply ran out of time. Number 9: Dark Seekers. – I Am Legend There’s nothing like good old fashion hundred and fifty million dollar hollywood Starring Will Smith Unfortunately, the bald Vampire like creatures with keeping mouth aren’t very convincing And it turn not very scary. It’s hard to get to involve when everything look’s far to digitized and removed from the actors Or rather actor. The Dark Seekers were basically just zombies Couldn’t you got a few actors to do that? Number 8: Deer Attack – The Ring 2 In this horror sequel a young boy becomes sought after by samara, a creepy girl from a video tape. This results in a number off odd and deadly occurrences Including this deer attack Ultimately this scene may have been scarier if A it make any sense and B if the deer looked remotely real Both of film makers attempt to get the new oasis of the animals down It’s all for nothing as the beasts looked super imposed Number 7: Monkeying Around – Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the Crystal Skull Every use of CGI is actually more of a fans than a usual Here CGI is used as earliest the very first shot for shadowing a film full unconvincingly animated effects Number 6: Brontosaurus Stampede – King Kong For Peter Jackson the man behind the lord of the rings Number 5: Surfs Up – Die Another Day This is the Bond film that finally jump the shark and causes series to go on full remove A major factor in this was the attempt to take the action to ridiculously extreme Graphics like this aren’t even fit for a second tier video game. Number 3: Car Crash – Along Came a Spider Talk about starting a film on a low While other films are happy enough to destroy countless cars This one refused to extend that same enthusiasm to a single vehicle. As this film opens, an undercover cop is conducting a sting, by posing as the date of a murder suspect. Now, I’m no physicist but… Number 2: CGI Actress – Catwoman In this ill fated spin-off, the success of the film was banked on Halle Berry’s sex appeal trying over story and dialogue. Unsurprisingly they took the easy path and animated her almost entirely with a computer Instead of animating in detail, their unconvincing effects relied on removing all real life texture from the – Actress herself by covering her in makeup. That, coupled with uncanny movements made the lackluster cityscape animation look good in comparison. Number 1: Scorpion King – The Mummy Returns Taking the top spot on our list is the effect that transformed Dwayne “the rock” Johnsson into the scorpion king. Or at least tried… It’s strange to imagine that this was his breakout role But it might somehow persevere through the laughably bad effect that transformed him into a – half man, half scorpion hybrid. This effect suffers from the decision to not merge the Rock’s real face with the effect. And instead made him a fully animated creature, straight out of the playstation 2 era. Agree with our list? 1. Can't stand CGI and never watch modern movies which totally rely on it,no one can tell me that any CGI can better the special affects in raiders of the lost arks final reveal of the ark,CGI just doesn't come close to how real that looked from a movie made some 36 years ago, movie making has got so lazy and gone backwards

  2. the matrix should not of been on this list since it was appropriate for the films. what were you expecting from them?

  3. The problem with I is Legend is not the CGI. It is the complete failure of the screenplay. . Watch the Omega Man to see a real storyline with character development, philosophical and moral dilemma, and zombies getting their asses totally kicked by Chucky.

  4. I disagree about The Matrix Reloaded because it was made in 2003 and that CGI was pretty good for that time but if The Matrix Reloaded used that kind of CGI now yes it could be on this list

  5. I'm happy that the zathura movie didn't use CGI cause that movie was great and didn't try using cgi

  6. The majority of these are fine imo. Leaving out big budget films was a mistake. Their overuse of cgi to the point where they can't make it all look good is the problem with Hollywood right now.

  7. Did he just say that I am legend is not scary
    Lemme tell you a story:
So as a child 4 years old i didnt know what zombies were until one day my mom played this on the tv. It ruined my life. So when i was 7 my mom LOOOOVED the walking dead and i used to cry everytime she played it (idk why i was always in the room with her tho) ehen i was nine i legit used to check out the window every few minutes to make sure nothing was outside. One time i had a dream that felt about 2 days long about zombies and it was the scariest dream in my life (not gonna explain that) so this movie, THIS MOVIE destroyed everything but yeah…

    The editing was trash…

  8. The scorpion king is a bad cgi effect? Seriously? Im afraid not! Cant agree on that one. That effect brought nightmares to those who were in the right rated age back in those days. More like one of the best of that year, even to be lesser effective than cgi from the early 90s

  9. i do not think that these cgi moments are so bad after all you should check out birdemic to know what is bad cgi heck i dont even want to call that cgi that was bad fotoshop from a 3-jearold i-i dont even know what to say…..

ps im sorry for spelling mistakes but you will have to look over that since im only 13 and english is not the lanuage i spoke growing up well only half of it if you're wondering the other half was german♡

  10. After watching the first 3, i posted my first dislike in over 5 years. Many of these scenes were great for the time and this video is a joke. This guy should not post more videos.

  11. Im glad you pointed out I Am Legend.
There was a real bad trend for a while in movies where all zombies and vampires and demons and anything else had to have ridiculously huge cgi mouths and all let out that exact same stupid ass growl

  12. The Scorpion King was so bad that it resulted in a number of things happening. Firstly, it pretty much killed that amazing franchise. Secondly, it spawned major changes in the CG field, with far more detailed models with Zbrush and the new SSS shader, which have massively helped things.

  13. I would add Jabba the Hut in the Star Wars re-CG'd originals. It showed how bad CG can really ruin a masterpiece. It didn't even look like Jabba.

  14. Am I the only one who actually likes Ultraviolet? I know the CGI wasn't great but It's still one of my favorites lol

  15. It's hard to fairly compare CGI that was ahead of it's time then mastered to it's current state.

  16. of course, the Scorpion King is the most and first on people List of Bad CGI, its at the tippy top thats how bad it was

  17. 7:30 Playstation 2 era as in it looks like it came from PS2 game? Idk man, more like Playstation 3 to me

  18. I personally don't think I am Legend or Ultraviolet should be on this list. I am Legend they were monsters so could have looked like anything and Ultraviolet I've always took it as they were going for that kinda crappy look lol.

  19. I've literally seen I am Legend like 20 times and have never thought to myself that the Vampire things were bad CGI/far removed from the actors. I think they're completely fine and look pretty cool😂

  20. It's funny how of the entire list,The Mummy Returns is the only one I am familiar.Of course, being a simple one,I saw The Scorpion King on the thumbnail, and I clicked!

  21. I’m assuming spawn never hit theaters because that film easily takes the trophy home if we are talking terrible CGI in movies.

  22. You guys full of sugar honey ice tea you can't compare those movies from yesteryear to today standards most of those movies were cutting edge for that in history. 🖕

  23. Ummmm, he called Pierce Brosnan’s die another day stunt ‘obviously using a greenscreen’. It wasn’t though – they used a bluescreen – not to be pedantic

  24. I disagree for the stampede from King Kong as #6 on the list although it doesn’t keep up towards the end of the scene is looks better then the playdoe fight scene in The Matrix
